What is the Adaptive Fitness Program?

The Adaptive Fitness Program is a unique and custom designed program that has evolved over many years experience working in the field. The program is suitable for individuals of all ages, and ability levels; including but not limited to those living with the impacts of Stroke, Spinal Cord Injury, Brain Injury, Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s and complex Orthopaedic conditions. The program emphasizes independence and long-term success, helping you to maintain activities of daily living and a healthy lifestyle.

How does the Adaptive Fitness Program work?

Our NeuroChangers Adaptive Fitness program begins with an assessment by a Registered Kinesiologist. Following the assessment, the therapists will create your custom training plan based on our Adaptive Fitness program model.

Adaptive Fitness Model

Our model focuses on four areas:

1) Dynamic Fitness, cardiovascular and respiratory conditioning and dynamic muscle activation.

2) Functional Movement, routines consisting of natural every day movements like rolling, squatting, crawling, and transitions.

3) Strength Training, targeted exercises to help build overall strength and core development that will assist in control of movement and functional tasks.

4) Body Awareness, sensory focused activities including breathing patterns and tactics to improve mental focus.

How does Adaptive Fitness differ from Intensive Neurological Rehabilitation?

The NeuroChangers Adaptive Fitness Program is run by Kinesiologists who have been specially trained in our unique fitness therapy protocol. The program emphasizes the whole of your health and longevity, with less short-term focus on specific injuries. Our primary goal is to motivate, educate and empower clients to maximize their long-term health potential.
